Pressure For Coal Seam Gas Regulation

THE trade-off between the rights of farmers and mining giants in the multi-billion-dollar coal seam gas industry is posing a threat to all sides of federal politics.   
Despite both the Government and the Opposition insisting the regulation of coal seam gas exploration is a matter for states, there are growing pressures within both parties for national regulation.

And the combined strength of the Greens and the rural Independents in the Federal Parliament will ensure the issue will not go away.  Read More
