AGL Confirms Hunter Wineries will Continue

AGL says it bought a Hunter Valley property belonging to the estate of the late coal seam gas critic David Clarke, to prove the industry could co-exist with agriculture.

AGL has major C-S-G exploration licenses across the Hunter and has formally announced it has purchased Poole's Rock Vineyard from the Clarke family, along with the adjacent Yellow Rock Estate from James Smiley.

The company says agricultural activities currently carried out on the properties will continue.
AGL spokesman Nathan Vass, says the company is well aware the former Chair of Macquarie Bank, Mr Clarke, was concerned about coal seam gas.
