Exploration company Cockatoo Coal, a joint venture with Korean steel makers POSCO, is concerned about negative publicity surrounding the Hume Project in the Southern Highlands.
About a thousand people attended a community rally last weekend to protest against the development of mining for coal and coal seam gas in the region.
Stuart Hides, General Manager of NSW Project Development at Cockatoo Coal says people are mis-informed.
