A miner is wasting its money exploring for coal seam gas (CSG) south of Brisbane because a Liberal National Party government would not let it develop anything it finds, leader Campbell Newman says.
Mr Newman said he warned Arrow Energy last year that its exploration activities in the Scenic Rim Council area were pointless if his party won the election.
He said an LNP government would not withdraw existing exploration permits, because it could expose Queensland to compensation claims.
