Kerry Blockade - The Final Stand (Keep the Scenic Rim Scenic

The final day of the Kerry Blockade against Coal Seam Gas exploration activities by Arrow Energy in the Scenic Rim in SE Queensland.

An emotional and inspirational day.
Editor's Note:  Just Awesome.

The proud farmers of Kerry QLD laid down their hats today in a symbolic gesture of what coal seam gas mining is doing to their livelihoods. The rural way of life in Australia is under direct threat from this industry. How can communities coexist with contaminated water, polluted air, lines of trucks carrying chemicals and the noise of a 24 hour gas field?

The exploration drill may be dragged out of Kerry today by Arrow Energy however it may well be a production well coming in next. It might be Arrow in Kerry, QGC in Tara, AGL in Gloucester or Santos in the Pilliga. There is no such thing as a clean and green Coal Seam Gas Company and they will now face community resistance where ever they rear their dangerous and deceptive heads.

This industry will not stop invading lands, contaminating water or polluting the air in our communities unless communities like Kerry stand up. Thank you for the community blockade at Kerry for inspiring myself and thousands of other Australians to keep up this campaign of community resistance to coal seam gas.

If we can stay strong, stay informed and stay peaceful. We will win.
