ABOUT CSG:

Coal Seam Gas (CSG) is a runaway fossil fuel industry that has flown for too long under the radar of public consciousness. Here, in Queensland, there are massive reserves of CSG deep beneath our feet, buried within ancient rock formations, above, below, between precious underground water supplies. Brisbane is CSG headquarters, with the big companies (like Santos, QCG, Origin...) posted in the CBD.

Who would have guessed that billion-dollar CSG "projects" have been in the pipeline for years? The industry knew. The government knew. Did you? Thousands and thousands of deals have been made, contracts signed, licenses permitted: behind our backs, under our noses. Now, all of a sudden, we are seeing more, hearing more, about CSG: good things, bad things — what should we believe, who should be trust?
Do we believe these guys? http://www.wewantcsg.com.au/

Or these guys?

According to the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA), the voice of Australia's oil and gas industry, "We Want CSG". In fact, to a first approximation, WE DON'T WANT CSG: two thirds (68%) of Australian's support a moratorium (a ban) on CSG (

And here is the truth of the matter: CSG IS NOT WORTH THE RISK!

Are we going to put our lives — our food, our water, our land — in the hands of one of the world's most profitable, environmentally unsustainable industries? An industry that doesn't ASK us what we want, that TELLS us what we want? Or are we going to decide what we want for ourselves? Are we going to put our lives in our own hands?

We need your help. The StopCSG movement is spreading across Australia, with especially strong campaigns in Illawarra and Sydney. Brisbane has lived in isolation from CSG for too long, and we are determined to change this. StopCSG Brisbane aims to throw "the new sheep's back" into the city spotlight, to expose the industry for what it really is: AN UNNECESSARY RISK. The truth about CSG is leaking, but only slowly — we need your help to split the pipes!

SO! If you care about Australia, about our land, about our food and water, about our past, present and future, north to south, east to west, city to country: please show your support!
