Water report sparks debate

THE highly anticipated Draft Underground Water Impact Report by the Queensland Water Commission has sparked a new round of debate across the bush.

The report found 85 bores were expected to be affected by Coal Seam Gas activity within three years and 528 bores in the long term.

These were among some 21,000 private water bores in the Surat cumulative management area.

Stakeholders are now invited to submit their feedback on the draft report. Submissions close at 5pm on June 22.

Queensland Country Life sought reaction to the report findings from a range of key stakeholders.
