Protesters banned from Beef Week

ALL politically motivated protests or floats are banned from participating in future Beef Week parades after an "avalanche" of complaints from festival-goers.

The festival organising committee voted unanimously to ban any more politically motivated floats after groups protesting against cuts to local hospital and health-care services and coal seam gas drilling marched in this year's parade.

Beef Week president Stuart George said the Beef Week office had fielded an avalanche of complaints from festival-goers upset that politics had infiltrated the family-oriented festival.
"We received phone calls, we had letters, we got emails and there were comments posted on Facebook," Mr George said.

Editor's Note :   If you read a bit further on, the article says, "Mr George who works for
coal- seam gas company Metgasco, insisted that he had not initiated the ban."    HAHAHA... yeah right.
